You may remember Mollie & Maureen’s destination engagement session in Nashville. After spending time together and building a friendship, I knew their wedding day would be special and unique. The theme for the day was Queer Midsummer Night’s Dream. You can see their wedding featured in the upcoming issue of Washingtonian magazine.
Mollie & Maureen planned an incredible day at Glen Echo Park, an abandoned amusement park turned National Park in the Washington, D.C. area with Lula Mae Events. A few of the day’s highlights and fun facts:
Some of my all time favorite first look moments, RBG dissent collar cufflinks, a ceremony officiated by Shumway Marshall who worked with Maureen and the Human Rights Campaign to help bring marriage equality nationwide, the charming neon signs at Glen Echo Park, protea used in the floral arrangements as a nod to South Africa, their first travel destination, carousel rides, a reception in the old bumper car pavilion, drag queen and MC Ba’Naka at the reception (yaaaassssssss) and a walk off (Leah faints), ice cream bar and ice cream sandwich wedding cake and an epic dance party from Jacq Jill. Most of all lots of love and happiness.
I love these brides. Enjoy lots of favorite images from the day below. More incredible wedding pros who made this day possible listed at the end of this post. Congratulations Mollie & Maureen!
