I love that I had the opportunity to shoot Whitney & Michael’s engagement session, wedding and a recent maternity session. It’s so wonderful to document the important moments in their life. This Knoxville Museum of Art Christmas themed Winter wedding was truly incredible. I got to work with Team Wedding and a fabulous crew of wedding pros who put together an unforgettable day.

The fashion and details in this wedding! Look at these shoes from Elf! Such a great “something blue”. Whitney’s effortless cool wedding dress was designed by Christy Dawn. The award for the most amazing cakes I have ever seen at a wedding go to Magpie’s. The crowd favorite was the tall Blue Velvet cake. LB Floral created gorgeous jewel toned florals for this event, perfect for a formal Winter wedding. Whitney’s deep red monochromatic bouquet was really special. I loved all the Christmas lights and Christmas ornament favors for their guests.

Whitney & Michael are so playful and adore each other. We created some of my all time favorite portraits on this day. A huge advantage to getting married at the KMA is the photo opportunities right there on the property. It was a treat for guests to have cocktails in the gallery and have The Legacy Band and Holly’s Eventful Dining at the reception and I loved seeing everyone have such a good time. Pro tip: if you hire a band, people will absolutely dance. Thanks for having me W&M, loved every minute!

Erin & Casey’s wedding has such great inspiration for a Summer wedding day. They planned a destination wedding in Tennessee, married at St Johns Cathedral in downtown Knoxville and held their ceremony in the Smoky Mountains at Sampson’s Hollow in Walland, TN. Wedding hero Marvyl from Team Wedding was there to make their day perfect.

Erin wore a dress from Loveliest Bridal that was an all time favorite. It had the most beautiful texture and looked incredible on her. Casey and the guys wore custom leather suspenders from Holtz Leather Co. Erin’s Mom is a florist with Primrose Hill Flower Company in New York and created beautiful delicate bouquets for the day. After a traditional ceremony in the sanctuary we had an adventure in downtown Knoxville for portraits in some of their favorite places. We stopped at K Brew where all that love started for coffee to go.

At their reception, Erin & Casey planned a casual affair with the Captain Muchachos Taco truck, super cute cafeteria style trays, customized beer glasses and straws for the guests. They also surprised everyone with games and the Cruze Farm ice cream truck. Sampson’s Hollow was beautiful at dusk with a line of tea lights in glass jars hanging from their fence and the famous smoke of our Smoky Mountains. There are so many favorite images and moments from the day. Thank you Erin & Casey!

Like most people in my industry, I’m a sucker for love. This wedding day had no shortage of it. I first met with Heather & Georgie in 2017 when they hired me for their Fall 2019 wedding day. I enjoyed getting to know them over the past two years and they even traveled to Tennessee for an engagement session in the Smoky Mountains National Park. Their love is supported by and inspiring to their friends and family, very evident at their wedding. I absolutely loved documenting their day at The Millcreek Wilde  and working with O’Honey Day of Coordination. The Millcreek Wilde is a perfect destination wedding venue for Chicago area couples who want something off the beaten path. Throughout the property in Watervliet, Michigan you can find getting ready suites and fire pits hidden in the forest and lots of indoor and outdoor areas for celebrating. An all time favorite DJ Jennefa was there as well as Charlyn’s Floral, Black Currant Bakehouse, White Horse Farm Catering and the 77 VW Photo Booth Bus. You can feel the love and see how exciting their wedding day was below in a few of my favorite images from the day!

The couple: I am so happy I met Krystal & Jonathan. They planned an intimate wedding day all about their marriage and the things they love and wanted to share. This couple lives in Charlotte, NC and decided on a destination wedding at a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. They met when they were 18 years old and this was a celebration of their 10th year together. They love being in nature, hiking part of the Appalachian Trail together last year, so it made perfect sense for them to celebrate with mountain views. I got to spend the following morning with them for a family session and they later gave me a really good ramen shop recommendation for a recent trip to Charlotte. Loved that city and this couple.

The details: Krystal had a yoga session outside on the porch before she changed into a bridal jumpsuit and Jonathan wore a green suit, Krystal’s favorite color. They both have incredible style. We spent some time in the National Park for portraits before the ceremony where the forest was full of butterflies flying all around us, pretty magical. They read handwritten personal vows and incorporated a handfasting ceremony. The reception included doughnuts (necessary) and a game night planned by the couple and hosted by Krystal’s sister and brother-in-law. Committing to each other, celebrating and spending time with the people you love is what it’s all about. Thank you for having me Krystal & Jonathan!

A Summer camp wedding: dream. As soon as I met with Tesha and heard about her and Hunter’s wedding plans at The Camp at Buffalo Mountain in Jonesborough, TN, I knew we were a great fit. I love this couple and their wedding vision. Some of my favorite details from the day were the first looks with Dad and Hunter in the rain with pretty transparent umbrellas, the rugs used to create an aisle for the ceremony, the natural surroundings of the mountains, beautiful edible flower petal accented wedding cake, signature drinks, farm to table catering, creating a sealed celebratory wine box for the future during the ceremony, a floral truck to surprise the guests with create-your-own bouquets, the hand drawn art depicting the camp used for display and save-the-dates, Tesha’s gorgeous ball gown, grandmother’s ring box and Hunter’s green suit.

The wedding party: this group was incredible and didn’t hesitate for a minute when Tesha & Hunter decided to shoot with me around the camp in the pouring rain. Some of my favorite shots from the day were created during a downpour. This bride and groom were so excited to get married and their wedding party was there to support and have a good time! I also loved shooting with them at the end of the night, playing in the creek after the reception. Perfect adventurous way to end a Summer camp wedding.

Wedding professionals: You can see how beautiful, whimsical and joyful the day was in these images, some of my favorites from Tesha & Hunter’s wedding. Positive Approach Weddings and Events did an excellent job helping the couple plan the weekend’s events and were great to work with. I love destination weddings where the guests get to spend time with each other for the entire weekend. With Catie Cakes, Stacie Randy DJ, Celebrate Rentals, Distinctive Wedding Ceremonies officiating, Faces by Ren, Blossom and Bloom Design florals, Orange Leaf Media videography, River Creek Farm catering, White Lace and Promises wedding gown and Charlotte’s Florals floral truck.
