I’m always excited to share a Firehouse Chicago wedding! After getting to know them during their engagement session in Wicker Park and hearing their story I couldn’t wait to document Briseyda & Chris’ wedding day. P.S. online dating works.

We started the day at Covenant Presbyterian Church with family helping each other get ready in a whirlwind of chaos and fun. Bri & Chris were married by their minister in this incredibly beautiful church with readings from their fathers and songs from a friend. At the end of the ceremony they greeted each guest, thanking them for being a part of their ceremony and marriage. After family portraits outside in some gorgeous light we sped off for portraits in a nearby park and ended up at Firehouse Chicago for their reception.

Firehouse Chicago has lots of character, beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, historical details and is perfect for intimate weddings with up to 100 guests. Bri & Chris planned a night full of good food from Big Delicious Planet including an ice cream sundae bar, beautiful speeches, Polish traditions and Latin dancing. Thank you for having me Bri & Chris. I’m so thankful to know you and hope your honeymoon in Portugal was perfection!

I absolutely loved working with this group of wedding pros on a bohemian styled wedding shoot created by Team Wedding at Honey Creek Farms. I photographed Polly & Jay, the owners’ wedding a few years ago and have been in love with this family and venue since. In their own words, “Honey Creek Farms is a family owned and operated farm and special events venue nestled on 25 acres of picturesque rolling hills that include a rustic cabin surrounded by a lovely creek, numerous outdoor ceremony sites, a remodeled elegant barn, a sophisticated bridal suite, charming groom’s room, a luxurious screened porch, a stately farmhouse, and much more!” You can see how special this venue is below. I’ve included a few favorite images from our beautiful summer shoot. Some of my favorite details are Ginger’s short wedding dress from The Gilded Gown, unique alternative bouquet with glass vessels, floral arm band and pampas grass ceremony space Melissa Timm Designs created, colorful goblets and eclectic bohemian table decor from Team Wedding and All Occasions Party Rentals  and nature inspired cookies from Sassy Pants Sweets and Treats. With models Ginger and Hayden, hair by Christi Piontkowski, makeup by Glam Studio and lighting by Bright Event Productions.

Catherine & Jonathan held their wedding at  Zoo Knoxville and I love unique venues! This couple was so fun to work with because they are super playful and just wanted to have fun and get married with no major expectations. We started off the day at the Knoxville Botanical Garden for portraits before their guests arrived and the party started. They climbed trees, snuggled and laughed, got a few mosquito bites and walked through a bamboo forest to escape the heat.

We arrived at the zoo where they greeted some friends and took a breath before the main event. A few minutes before their ceremony the skies opened up and everyone ran into the nearest building where they continued. Everyone stood beaming while they said their vows. During the cocktail hour the guests were treated to appetizers and drinks in a multi-level tree house with swinging suspension bridge overlooking the gibbons. An animal ambassador introduced birds to the guests and Catherine & Jonathan visited the red pandas. During the reception everyone dined at tables decked out with details Catherine’s Mom and sister gathered on an International trip, danced to music carefully chosen by the bride and groom and scrambled to find their favorite animals for carousel rides. Thank you for having me C&J! Here are a few favorites-

Lori & Drew met me in the Smoky Mountains National Park for their engagement session recently. They are planning a New Years Eve wedding at Jackson Terminal in downtown Knoxville, TN this year with Custom Love Gifts & Events. Lori’s red dress was incredible in contrast with those forest greens. I love this gorgeous couple, enjoyed spending an evening with them in the mountains and I am so happy they found each other. I can’t wait for NYE!

Serious floral inspiration coming. I’m so excited to share this wedding! You may have seen Caitlin &  Travis’ engagement session in Chicago last Fall. After spending the day with this fun couple I knew how in love they were and was SO excited to photograph their Spring wedding at Fishermen’s Inn just outside of Chicago. This was my second time at their venue and I can’t say enough good things about the space and their staff. Caitlin is a fabulous wedding planner and works with Floral Wonders. They worked together to make the space incredibly beautiful from the unique ceremony branch with delicate hanging flowers, incredible floral centerpieces with glowing candlelight and geometric vs. natural elements to the suspended rustic boxes with arrangements in the reception area. The floral details were unbelievable. The gorgeous cake was made by Two Wild Seeds who offer gluten free and vegan cakes, Caitlin’s cool platform shoes are Stella McCartney and beautiful gown was from Matthew Christopher. Her makeup artist is Makeup by Francesca. Caitlin’s brother and Chicago comedian Brooks officiated their very personal ceremony with rock paper scissors to determine who read their hand written vows first. Caitlin’s twin sister Taylor stood by her side as the Maid of Honor and Travis’ best friend served as his Best Man. I know they are so excited to start married life and I can’t wait to see all of their adventures together! Some of my favorite moments are featured here-
