I love the story behind this wedding. In 2010-2012, Tara and I were coworkers. I was juggling wedding photography on the weekends and my last 9-5 job during the week. I was thankfully able to resign and become a full time photographer on June 1, 2012 and Tara, in support, promised she would hire me when she got married. She kept her word and I was able to photograph her and Derek’s wedding on the 4th of July weekend this year in Chicago. Life is amazing! Tara is now an attorney and we are both living out our dreams. I am so happy to know her and Derek and loved photographing their day.
I started with Tara and the ladies at the Public Hotel downtown with Pin Me Up Chicago. Tara and I went out for bridal portraits at the Lily Pool and on Lake Michigan and I spent some time with Derek and his friends and family at their new condo afterwards. The rest of the day was spent at Ravenswood Event Center where their ceremony and reception were held. The details of the day were just perfect- Tara designed everything so beautifully. I loved the color scheme and flowers from eco-friendly florist Fab Flora, the Persian rug they said their vows on, gorgeous bridesmaids in blush, vegetarian menu, Tara’s BHLDN ceremony gown and short playful reception dress, meeting up with their beloved dog for photos, the Stan’s Donut bar and most of all the incredible love they have for each other.
