I am excited to share this very special wedding weekend with you! I traveled to photograph PK & Korel’s engagement session this Spring in Portland and on Sauvie Island and couldn’t wait to come back and shoot their wedding. They planned a wedding weekend at a riverside campground in Alsea, Oregon with close friends and family. I enjoyed the two hour drive South of Portland through the remote forests and arrived in time to location scout, have a great welcome dinner with the bride, groom and guests and help set up my camp. I am definitely a camper but this was my first experience tent camping for work. I loved spending the weekend documenting all of the games, campfires, morning coffee, dancing, cooking, playing in the river and celebrating PK & Korel. Shout out to Korel for making me very strong Olympia Coffee Roasting Company coffee (favorite) on the morning of their wedding and to my girlfriend for the car camera battery charger!
PK & Korel made their own wedding rings with the words “I Will Always Choose You” engraved inside the band at With These Rings in Portland, OR. With These Rings is a jewelry studio that offers you the unique opportunity to make your own wedding bands through private instruction. Such a great idea for couples- creating heirloom quality wedding rings with a memorable experience. The ceremony included a ring warming where guests passed the wedding rings around to give the couple their blessing. After the ceremony was over PK & Korel headed down to the beautiful river to sit, have a drink and celebrate being the new Mr. and Mrs. with their dog. Many of their red, black, white and yellow wedding day details were handmade and meals were prepared by family. PK’s grandmother made her gorgeous wedding dress! The weekend included personal touches such as signature drinks, an after wedding day brunch, live music, a photo booth, a family style wedding meal on campground picnic tables, s’mores by the campfire, outdoor games and a laminated photo of honorary guest David Bowie. This was a very personal thoughtful wedding where everyone felt like family and had an exceptionally good time!
I loved meeting and hanging out with their friends and family, seeing the gorgeous forest and night sky, falling asleep in a tent after a hard day’s work, sharing meals with the campers, tubing in the river with everyone the day after their wedding, hearing Korel’s band play and most of all documenting their very unique wedding day. This was an incredible experience- thank you PK & Korel!
