Intimate Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

The couple: I am so happy I met Krystal & Jonathan. They planned an intimate wedding day all about their marriage and the things they love and wanted to share. This couple lives in Charlotte, NC and decided on a destination wedding at a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. They met when they were 18 years old and this was a celebration of their 10th year together. They love being in nature, hiking part of the Appalachian Trail together last year, so it made perfect sense for them to celebrate with mountain views. I got to spend the following morning with them for a family session and they later gave me a really good ramen shop recommendation for a recent trip to Charlotte. Loved that city and this couple.

The details: Krystal had a yoga session outside on the porch before she changed into a bridal jumpsuit and Jonathan wore a green suit, Krystal’s favorite color. They both have incredible style. We spent some time in the National Park for portraits before the ceremony where the forest was full of butterflies flying all around us, pretty magical. They read handwritten personal vows and incorporated a handfasting ceremony. The reception included doughnuts (necessary) and a game night planned by the couple and hosted by Krystal’s sister and brother-in-law. Committing to each other, celebrating and spending time with the people you love is what it’s all about. Thank you for having me Krystal & Jonathan!
