I’m so excited to share Yesenia & Matt’s wedding weekend at Paradisus Playa del Carmen! I photographed their good friends Betty & Pat’s wedding in Chicago and I was thrilled to spend the weekend with this group, documenting everyone enjoying the resort and having Betty & Pat in the wedding party. Yesenia & Matt had a beautiful night for an outdoor rehearsal dinner on Thursday. I had the opportunity to photograph them around the resort and get familiar with all of the cool spots to hang out and shoot portraits. Friday was a day for everyone to enjoy the all inclusive paradise tucked away on a stunning private bay. Some of the most memorable things I saw and obviously photographed were the architectural details, gelato and espresso bars, iguana sanctuary, ocean views and dry ice magic tricks at the end of one of many on property fine dining restaurant meals.
Saturday I met up with Matt and his groomsmen in a beautiful suite (most of which you can swim up to from the pool). We walked around the property and got some shots with insane ocean views and took advantage of the architecture and shadows. I loved this group of guys and enjoyed spending time with them. Matt’s last name is Green and you’ll notice all of their cool green wedding details including Yesenia’s emerald Manolo Blahnik shoes, the bridemaid’s dresses, ties and pocket squares. I went to the bridal suite afterwards to document all of the ladies getting ready and as you can see, they were STUNNING. The evening ceremony took place oceanside on a large wooden bridge. Yesenia’s son walked her down the aisle and Matt’s reaction to seeing her for the first time is priceless. I love his proud brother looking on just as surprised and happy. It was so cool to capture Matt kissing and dancing with Yesenia after they were married. The resort did a fabulous job with the flowers and all of the wedding decor. I loved working with their expert planners and would highly recommend this resort to any couple considering a destination wedding!
Matt and Yesenia and I walked around Paradisus for portraits at a few cool places I found while wandering around the resort before they were introduced as husband and wife. Yesenia changed into a super sexy reception dress and everyone had a great time during dinner and dancing. After a friend performed a surprise song, I stole them for some night shots at the end of the night and walked back to my beautiful room, wishing I could stay another week. Thanks for having me Y&M! I absolutely love your crew. Enjoy the photos from this Mexico destination wedding-
