The couple: Sarah & Erik are from Baton Rouge, LA. This adventurous couple who love the outdoors and hiking planned a weekend in Tennessee and a wedding at the Primitive Baptist Church in Cades Cove within the Smoky Mountains National Park. Friends and family members traveled to spend the weekend in the mountains at Townsend, Tennessee wedding venue and lodge Dancing Bear. You can see their Smoky Mountain waterfall engagement photos here.
The details: The couple worked with Marvyl from Team Wedding to plan a classic wedding with a coral and green color palette. Some of my favorite details of the day: Sarah’s Bella Belle beaded bridal shoes, personalized camp coffee mug favors, a floral hoop from florist Foxglove & Heather, the incredible dance floor with the help of Kimz Entertainment including Sarah dancing to her favorite song, “Proud Mary” and Stephanie Torregrossa the live wedding painter they hired to paint a scene from their reception.
The ceremony: Getting to the ceremony in Cades Cove gave us some interesting views and lots of traffic. The Park had scheduled a controlled burn at that time and gave us an opportunity to have some beautiful smoke, clouds and filtered light for their portraits. A family member played guitar and the church was flooded with beautiful afternoon light while the guests were seated. The historic Primitive Baptist Church in Cades Cove was built by hand in 1827 and is such a unique place to get married in East Tennessee. With the wedding party by their sides, Sarah & Erik said their vows and celebrated with lots of passionate kisses and super excited guests in the sunshine afterwards. We set off for portraits throughout Cades Cove after the ceremony and ended up back at Dancing Bear right before sunset.
The food and drinks: Sarah & Erik created signature drinks- an Old Fashioned for Erik and a “Prancing Bear” for Sarah made with Wheatley Vodka, strawberry and sage shrub, honey bitters and ginger beer . The food included succotash, jambalaya and a classic wedding cake from Art of Cakes Bakery.
Thank you Sarah & Erik and congratulations!
