First dance song: “God Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts
This is my last wedding and blog post of 2016. It’s been an incredible year and this was a perfect way to end the year- with a huge party. Ryan & Britta invited me to photograph their rehearsal dinner at Cooper’s Hawk Winery and wedding at Fisherman’s Inn in Elburn, IL just outside of Chicago. After getting to know their VIPs at dinner, I was ready to shoot and see Britta in her gorgeous blush and gold Galia Lahav wedding dress. The very Games of Thrones head piece killed me- beautiful bride! Ryan Pullano is a DJ and I knew their dance floor would be amazing. Thanks to Second Photographer Michelle Catalano-Reilly with work also featured on the blog. She captured some great shots of Ryan before their first look.
Some of the many special parts of the wedding day aside from their amazing sense of fashion were Britta’s bouquet with an image of her Mom and a memory table honoring her, Britta’s first looks with Ryan and her Dad, swizzle stick pre-ceremony cocktails, the vows they exchanged with good friend Chris acting as their officiant, individual cakes at each table including a birthday cake for a guest, personal speeches, gorgeous tablescapes, Britta’s killer reception jumpsuit, late night snacks, a great band and insane dance party with DJ Akib, ending with a sparkler exit. Thank you so much for inviting me into your lives to photograph this day, congratulations Ryan & Britta!
