“Leah is an exceptionally talented and creative photographer, the value for what you get can’t be beat, she’s super professional and reliable, one of the nicest/coolest humans we have ever met, and she is like human Xanax on your wedding day— invaluable. Plus, you might just end up in a magazine!

My wife and I agree that if we had to play “desert island: wedding edition,” where you could only choose one thing about our wedding to keep, it would HANDS DOWN be Leah. And we had a phenomenal wedding, so that’s saying something.

My wife has a background in journalism and digital media, and I am… discerning, so we looked for a photographer for a while— a lot of nice folks who did good work but we weren’t wowed. And then we discovered Leah. After looking through her work, we had a Facetime interview with her, and my now-wife and I were bowled over. She has this warmth and genuine excitement about getting to know you and celebrating your love that can’t be feigned. She got the vision for our wedding immediately, was excited with and for us, and has the ultimate “yes, and” attitude, which makes such a difference when facing the many inherent wedding planning challenges. We loved that she was open and excited about doing an out-of-state wedding— and her pricing was still more reasonable than many (less talented/experienced) folks in our area. In fact, her coming in from out of town made it that much better because all the settings/shots were tailored to us and our wedding (not the standard “this is where we do family shots at this venue”/stock photo kind of thing).

We were working with a limited budget but really wanted to do an engagement shoot, so we worked out a compromise wherein we traveled to TN and she came and met us for the best day.We drove around to an array of locations- some naturally beautiful and some that really demonstrated her exceptional “eye”. Highly recommend doing the engagement shoot if at all possible so you can get to know each other and get comfortable in front of the camera (not that it’s hard with her)! She captured our personalities and our dynamic so perfectly & artfully, and it was just a lot of fun, to boot.

Our wedding day was stressful, as most are, but she kept everyone calm while still being such a quiet presence that it was easy to forget she was there, so she captured so many tender moments. She did her best to help keep us on schedule but, through no fault of hers, we were running late so we had to switch up our plan for some shots, but she always made it work and kept us from feeling any stress about it. We got all the shots we wanted and then, more importantly, all of those that we hadn’t known we needed but are our favorites. She captured all of the joy, emotion and fun throughout our wedding day, and we couldn’t be more grateful because, considering all of the moving parts, it was no easy task! Everyone gushed over the photos and we gave her name a friend who ultimately hired her, which was no surprise.

The value for the quality of the final product you get from Leah is incredible— we received both prints and soft copies of an insane number of perfectly shot and edited photos, and we loved that she turned around a teaser of some of the best in a mind-bogglingly fast 24 hrs, which we really appreciated having in the come-down from the wedding.

The icing on the cake was that she submitted our photos to a number of publications/outlets, and our engagement shoot/story was featured on a number of blogs, as was our wedding, and our wedding was featured in print in Washingtonian Weddings magazine— a huge honor — all because of Leah’s eye!

Leah is the perfect mix of professional and personal— always responsive, sticks to deadlines, warm and personable, delivers above and beyond what she’s been contracted to do, and is the kind of person everyone should be lucky enough to have around on one of the most important days of their lives! Clearly we are big fans, and know anyone who decides to work with her will be, too.”- Brides Mollie & Maureen

Leah has a gift for capturing the essence of people. This isn’t the sort of statement I take lightly or hand out often. I try to avoid platitudes. So if you are one of those people that tries not to take a stranger’s compliments too seriously, please take this one for all its worth. There are a lot of well-respected photographers that don’t quite have the eye Leah has. She captured our story and the stories of our friends and family extraordinarily well, and she really nailed the feeling of it– those little moments of truth and grace, visible in just a flutter of an instant, faster than most eyes can blink. Not every photographer has the instinct for this, but Leah does. I’ll always be glad we entrusted her with photographing our big day!”- Bride Amy

“Great poise, empathy, and talent. You have been amazing, we couldn’t be happier.”- Bride Krystal and Groom Jonathan

“It was essential to be able to connect with my photographer on a personal level in addition to their ability to convey the feelings of a moment through their work. I wanted to make sure I could have an open and honest relationship about my wants, but still have someone guide me through the process. I loved you so much from day one, there was no way I could have gone with anyone else! My Mom still asks me how you are doing!“- Bride Sarah

Leah was a complete pleasure to work with. I was drawn to choosing her as our wedding photographer for the pictures she took, but I was also so pleasantly surprised at how great a person she was in addition to her talent behind the camera. Before meeting with Leah for the first time, I put together some pictures I liked that I had found by looking around online wedding blogs. Crazily enough, the picture I loved the most, which I showed as my ideal wedding picture, was taken by Leah and I had no idea! It was fate and I knew then and there that she had to photograph our wedding. In terms of the pictures themselves, I was so beyond impressed with how they turned out. It’s been several months since I got married and I still can’t stop looking at them! She asked us so many questions to make sure the pictures turned out in the style that we wanted. Leah genuinely took my suggestions, but also wasn’t afraid to take some risks and try different things. She was really creative and had so many great ideas that weren’t your typical “Chicago couple getting married” pictures that you see every day. Most of my favorite pictures were not on my original shot list, but were special moments that Leah captured. We got married the day before St. Patrick’s day, and it was Leah’s idea to have us take pictures eating green donuts and getting high-fived by people dressed in green on their way to the Chicago parade. Everyone at our wedding absolutely loved those pictures! I also get so many complements from acquaintances on Facebook and at work that see my pictures. They are so genuine and truly capture the sentiment of the day and our personalities as a couple, and it’s all thanks to Leah! I could not recommend her more highly to anyone who is getting married and does not want your standard run-of-the-mill, posed wedding pictures. I think one of the most important things about a wedding photographer is not only the quality and style of the pictures they take, but also the effort they make to get to know you and help you enjoy your day. I had no idea this would be the case leading up to our wedding, but I probably spent as much time with Leah on our wedding day as I did with my husband, because we took so many pictures with her. She was like another guest at our very small wedding and made us have even more fun. Everyone at our wedding also commented at how nice and friendly Leah was. She did not by any means disrupt or disturb the mood of the day or any special moments like some wedding photographers can. She blended into the background when taking pictures, but also made an effort to talk to and get to know guests, which was a really rare and special combination.“- Bride Kate

“We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Leah Moyers. When planning a wedding or any big event, the best advice we can offer is hire the pros and trust them to do the work and do it well. Never could something be more accurate than with Leah who was a dream come true from start to finish. Leah is hands down a fantastic photographer, but she is even more skilled at making you feel comfortable and in control when in her company. She was energetic, confident and a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the day itself. She had no issue pulling us to one side to get shots when she could see light conditions were at their best or wrangling the whole family as you try to get all your formals done before the guests arrive. Leah was extremely aware of the tight timelines we were under and her shooting style marries time efficiency with high quality. Thanks again for providing a first class service. With one of the biggest days of our lives and such a huge action packed event, we feared that we would not be able to stop and take it all in and the day would soon fade from our memories. However, you’ve truly captured the essence of our day providing us with so many wonderful images.” -Brides Erica and Megan

“When my husband Bradley and I decided to elope and go with a simple and alternative wedding day, I told him all I wanted was a fantastic photographer. Someone flexible, someone candid, someone creative and artistic. Leah was EXACTLY what we were looking for. When I first contacted Leah and told her about our ideas (eloping in the mountains of East TN, having a picnic of champagne and cupcakes, and wrapping up the day at Dollywood), she was so enthusiastic! She got us perfectly — a little kitchy, a little cheesy, and a lot of fun. She was so easy to communicate with right off the bat, and I felt as though I had known her forever. If you’re looking for someone who takes her craft seriously, but has so much fun with it, I can’t recommend Leah highly enough. She put us completely at ease, kept us laughing and smiling, and even drove us from one location to the next! She had fantastic ideas, and made us look incredible. More importantly, she went to Dollywood with us and documented our whole day, from getting hitched by a stream, to a ride on a carousel, to a funnel wedding cake to end the night. She captured our spirit, and our simple love. We knew it would take a special person to elope right along with us, and she was our perfect companion on such an wonderful day. Bradley and I could not be happier with the finished product. The photos are simply spectacular, with the perfect balance of candid shots, naturally posed portraits, and gorgeous artistic photos. She is an artist, and created for us some of the most beautiful mementos we could have asked for. My expectations were high, and she exceeded them in every way. We did it our way, and Leah captured it, and us, beautifully.”- Bride Sarah

“Leah was everything I could have hoped for in a wedding photographer. I know how it looks when people give people perfect reviews, but I honestly couldn’t say that I was even the least bit pleased with anything about our experience working with her. She was extremely professional and produced beautiful, artistic, and professional photographs at a more-than-reasonable price. She was helpful in arranging shots and had a lot of great ideas for accomodating our tiny, at-home wedding. She also did a lot of work getting ready for us before the event, including meeting with us via video chat and a meeting over dinner. She spent the day before shooting around town looking for the best locations; they were outstanding and made for truly great photos. Most importantly to me, she was very responsive in communication. I don’t think I ever waited more than an hour for an e-mail or text response from her. Perfect.“- Groom Abe

“Leah photographed our wedding and our experience with her was absolutely amazing! I found Leah about 9 months before our wedding. Both my husband and I spoke with her on the phone and due to her kindness, knowledge of photography, and past work we knew she was our photographer. Leah stayed in touch throughout the months leading up to our wedding and educated herself on our interests, photography preferences, and venue layout. She visited my venue and took note of all of the special spots. Being the Bride I was very nervous the day of, however Leah did a great job calming my nerves during our first look and our private photo shoot. She provided snacks and great conversation and guidance during our shoot through the mountains. The pictures I’ve received are absolutely stunning, and although it was the three of us the photos are still very loving and intimate. I would recommend her to anyone that wants their special moment documented in time. Leah is definitely a special soul, and in many ways she was more than just a photographer to me that day. We for sure plan on using her in the future when we make it back to TN.”- Bride Michelle

“We had Leah for our Chicago wedding and she’s absolutely amazing! From start to finish, we were blown away by her professionalism and also by how personal she makes everything! We just really loved the entire experience from the initial phone calls to our engagement photos and throughout our entire wedding day. I should also mention that her work is incredible. She’s very creative and it really seems like she cares about producing excellent photos. Thanks Leah!”- Bride Jami

I can’t recommend Leah highly enough. She was wonderful! She photographed our intimate cabin wedding. Our group is on the quiet side, but Leah made us feel completely comfortable. My mother commented that from the moment she walked in it felt like we knew her our entire lives! Her creative eye is phenomenal, and I was so happy with the quality of shots she took. She captured really moving moments while selecting photos where everyone looked their best. We came from out of town, and Leah was very good about keeping in contact with us before our big day. Thanks Leah!”- Bride Kaylyn

“I cannot say enough good things about working with Leah. Beyond her fabulous photography, she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her customer service is phenomenal, she is insanely organized, and her attitude is wonderful. She shot my wedding in Chicago in April 2016 and we were delighted with her creativity, professionalism and attentiveness. Our photos look great and she was just delightful. We would work with Leah again in a second.“- Bride Noa

“You will NOT be disappointed or feel awkward with Leah. She is so much fun and knows what she’s doing! She felt like a friend I knew forever!“- Bride Jessica

“Once we met her on the day of our destination wedding it was like we’ve known her for a long time – Leah is very down to earth and everyone attending the wedding was extremely impressed with her. She made us feel 100% comfortable in front of the camera and it was a very organic experience, not posed. We received our photos and cried tears of joy several times as we were able to re-live our wedding day. Leah captured moments that I could only dream of her capturing – this was one of the many reasons why we selected her and we were blown away with the results. Leah was incredible to work with and we could not have asked for a better experience!“- Bride Laura

Leah was beyond exceptional! We had been following her for a long time on social media and when it came to our big day, it was an obvious decision to go with her. She was a powerhouse the entire weekend, and kept us on time amid the chaos of our long event. Her wide-panned shots mixed with her knack for catching candid photos captured our hopes for the wedding. Very professional, punctual, responsive, and you can tell she’s passionate about what she does. She does an engagement package too, which we recommend, as it got us prepped for the wedding day, comfortable working together and produced a large set of exciting and beautiful photos we used for our wedding website and the beginning of our wedding albums. We love her!”- Groom Korel

We can’t say enough positive praise about Leah. From the first phone call through the first in person meeting, Leah was prepared and you could tell she was very experienced. During the planning stages, she made us feel comfortable and gave us guidance, while at the same time allowing us to communicate what we envisioned. Leading up the the wedding, Leah stayed in contact with us and was always there whenever we had any questions. On the wedding day, Leah did a great job of not only providing the artistic direction, but also helped to keep to our timeline which allowed us to get all the shots we wanted. Leah scouted the location (even though she wasn’t from the city we got married in) and already knew all the best spots ahead of time which was a huge help. She also provided us a second photog which turned out to to be extremely skilled and as professional and polite as Leah. Needless to say, when we got the final product of images we were, yet again, impressed with the quality, quantity and look of all the shots. Without a quality end product none of the above would matter and we were very happy with what we received. Leah also went the extra mile and mailed us a cool package with some special prints, a USB key of the digital images and nice little note. We would recommend Leah to others looking for a photog as she was great to work with, provided valuable insight/experience and delivered an excellent end product.”- Groom Ryan

“Leah was incredible to work with. Her years of experience as a wedding photographer really helped us on our wedding day. Not only did she capture all the sweetest moments and all the best lighting, but also her calm nature and knack for staying on schedule made our wedding day wonderful and stress-free. Before the wedding, she even came to the venue and walked the site with us giving us ideas about the day. I love her style of photography. Her photos tell a story from beginning to end. We have hundreds of candids from the reception that show the happiness, fun and laughter throughout the night.“- Groom Michael

“When we began our wedding plans in Pigeon Forge, TN, we weren’t going to have a photographer. I searched the internet and found Leah. Her photos are beautiful. I reconsidered and am so happy I did! She took our engagement pictures in September. Neither my wife or I are very comfortable having our pictures taken. She made us feel so at ease! I felt like we became friends and not just clients. She knew how to set up a photo and took many photos without us knowing. Those turned out wonderful! When it came time for the wedding, we didn’t even realize she was taking pictures. She was very professional and wonderful to work with. She was very prompt with all of her replies (and trust me, I had a lot of questions!). She impressed all of our guests also! I really can’t say enough about how much we loved her and the pictures she has done for us. She has enabled us to have memories for a life time! I would highly recommend her to anyone!”- Bride Ellen

“Leah photographed our wedding this past July. She was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. On our wedding day, she made us all feel very relaxed and comfortable. In addition to being a professional, she is extremely talented. As I look through the photographs I feel like I am re-living our wedding day all over again. She caught every emotion I was feeling on camera, as well as so many moments and beautiful photos of our family & friends. The pictures came out absolutely beautiful, and I would 100% use her again!”- Bride Nicole

“Leah worked alongside a family friend photog for our destination wedding last March. She was incredibly professional, creative, and a delight to have around during the evening. She was very flexible in understanding what we were after and often used our ideas while making suggestions based on experience, industry knowledge, and best practices (in other words, we trusted her and she produced at a high level). I would hire Leah again in a heartbeat.“- Groom Justin

“Leah was our wedding photographer and was just a wonderful person to have around on our day! As a bride, you spend a lot of time with your photographer, and she felt a part of our group while the girls were getting ready. She captured exactly the right moments, and also captured the fun and excitement of the day. All my guests commented on how hard she was working, and seemed to be everywhere! I also think she had as much fun photographing the crazy dancing as we did during the dance! I still find myself smiling uncontrollably as I look through our photos. Beyond having a great eye and very professional, Leah just made you feel that all was covered and you could enjoy your day. I would recommend Leah without a doubt!”- Bride Monica

“Where to begin?! She is on a whole other level. Leah makes the stuff that bridal magazines and cutting edge blogs should be begging to get their hands on. Her shots are modern and artistic, her post-production is impeccable. Never too photoshopped, just flattering. In my engagement session, Leah made me feel like a rock star! (which was only exacerbated when I found some of our pics making rounds on twitter and wedding websites!) We gallivanted through the streets of Seattle, taking pictures under ivy covered overpasses, on ferries, in alleys, in library halls and then went for a woodsy walk that gave birth to some of the most sophisticated pictures of myself and my fiance that I could have ever imagined. Leah is such a good natured hard-worker. Seriously, we got tired way before she did, and this girl is still on her feet and switching out memory cards and shooting and shooting and never complaining. We were so happy with the photos that we are flying her out for our wedding in a couple months. I can’t say enough great things about Leah. If you are thinking of hiring her, book early because this girl’s gonna be busy!“- Bride Onyx
