Katy & Rebecca’s Chicago Nature Museum Wedding

First dance song: “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne

As I have a brand new website, I thought I would blog one of my favorite weddings not included in its entirety on the new site on their anniversary. Brooklyn, NY (now Portland) couple Katy & Rebecca married at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago in October of 2014. We started out at the Hotel Palomar where they had a very special first look on the terrace with a beautiful view of the city. Katy wore a very unique and amazing tuxedo inspired wedding dress. Rebecca wore BHLDN with a custom veil by The Hat Girl Angela Morano. Katy & Rebecca had their first date at a Cubs game so we spent time shooting in Wrigleyville and also along Lake Michigan, in the bird sanctuary at Montrose Harbor and in the Butterfly Haven at the museum before their wedding. They had an incredible outdoor ceremony with unseasonably warm weather for October. Northside Brass provided the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour in the Wilderness Walk and Butterfly Haven. Ali Phillips from Engaging Events by Ali planned their gorgeous wedding. The reception had a serious dance floor thanks to an all time favorite Toast & Jam. Larkspur created their beautiful flowers, Blue Plate Catering catered the event and created the awesome dessert bar including mini poptarts and late night snacks with mini Chicago style hot dogs. You can also see this wedding published on Equal and Forever here, Two Bright Lights here and on Junebug Weddings here, huge honor! Enjoy the photos from their Chicago fall wedding.

Thanks for having me Katy & Rebecca and Happy Anniversary!
