Colleen & Stewart were married in June At Southern Depot in downtown Knoxville, TN. I have been so excited about sharing their East TN wedding day. I joined Colleen where she and the girls were getting ready with one of my faves, Michael Aceves from Trendz Salon. Colleen & Stewart had their first look at home and we set off for portraits at a botanic garden and by the lake near where Colleen grew up. After their beautiful and personal wedding ceremony everyone gathered at Southern Depot for an early dinner, classic wedding cake from the amazing Art of Cakes, lots of dancing with Sequoyah Entertainment, hanging out by the train cars out back (so cool) and an overall great time. I loved capturing their dance floor, lots of fun family photos outdoors and the hilarious garter toss. With gorgeous flowers by Oak Ridge Floral Company and videography from Milestone Pictures. Great working with all of these wonderful people. Congratulations to the Millers, thank you of having me as part of your super fun summer wedding day!

Ally & Wes married in Sarah’s Glen at Sampson’s Hollow in the Smoky Mountains. They had a beautiful summer day for their wedding and I adored meeting and spending time with their family and friends. I loved how close their family is and how happy everyone was on their wedding day. Ally & Wes were high school sweethearts and the love and friendship they have together is evident. Wes’ reaction to seeing Ally for the first time at the ceremony made everyone tear up (including me). Enjoy this sweet couple and this beautiful location!

I met up with Caroline & Neil in Edinburgh, Scotland at Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat to photograph them for their 20th wedding anniversary. They had just picked up a foster dog who traveled all the way from Romania and brought her along for the shoot. She has since been adopted and is thankfully in her forever home. Angus is their super cute wire haired dachshund I am officially in love with. You’ll see him tagging along with them in most of the photos. I enjoyed having dinner with the whole crew and love how dog friendly Edinburgh is. Congratulations to Caroline & Neil! Enjoy the photos from our quick shoot in Scotland-

Sandie & Greg’s intimate elopement was so special, what incredible locations! We started the day in their room at Blackberry Farm in Walland, TN. Blackberry Farm is “one of America’s most celebrated intimate luxury hotels… situated on a pastoral 4,200-acre estate in the Great Smoky Mountains… one of the top rated properties in the world.”

Sandie chose a beautiful Alice+Olivia dress with intricate embroidered scenes depicting wildlife and nature, very fitting for their wedding day in the mountains. Sandie’s earrings were cast rosemary. During the Victorian era, the herbs a bride carried held serious meaning: rosemary stood for remembrance. She wore a cast feather bracelet, her grandmother’s pin in her hair and clogs from Bryr’s handmade bridal line.

We enjoyed wandering around the farm and taking portraits by the stream, the garden and the boat house. Sandie & Greg met on a weekend long kayaking trip and the boat house was a perfect place for them to have portraits made as boats are an important and sentimental part of their life together. Their ceremony took place by the water on mossy rocks in a magnificent part of the Smoky Mountains National Park. Intimate elopements are seriously amazing to photograph and I enjoyed spending the day with Sandie & Greg, capturing them in these beautiful natural areas. After they said I do Greg washed Sandie’s feet in the mountain stream and they celebrated with more portraits, a glass of champagne and wrapped themselves up in a Great Smoky Mountains National Park Pendleton blanket, a beautiful wedding gift. They ended their day with a dinner and weekend celebration at Blackberry Farm and then off to a Caribbean honeymoon.

I love exploring the mountains, live near the National Park and have the necessary permit required to photograph weddings, elopements, engagements and other sessions within its boundaries. Contact me for additional information if you’re planning a wedding in the Smokies!

I am kicking off the weekend with this fun Firehouse Chicago wedding in Chicago, IL. I first met Karissa & Andrew shortly after they’d moved from Las Vegas to Chicago for their engagement session. I loved their spirit and am so excited to share this wedding day! The bride and groom’s sweet dog Gizmo made an appearance and there was gorgeous light for their around town photos in such perfect locations, Karissa’s beautiful long sleeved lace wedding dress, colorful flowers with orchids by Steve’s Flower Market, an emotional ceremony with a surprise song from a friend, an epic fire pole entrance and hula dance during the reception, s’mores with handmade marshmallows and catering by Fig, live music (including lots of dancing) from Jukebox Babies and TJ Madeja Music and an amazing sparkler exit. Enjoy and thank you for having me Karissa & Andrew! Hair: Analie at Steven Papageorge Salon, Makeup: Pin Me Up Chicago
